What is M.A.R.C.H.?

M.A.R.C.H. is a prioritized trauma assessment system built on principles from the Committee on Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC). It tells you what to address first, second, and third — in the exact order that protects the most life.

• M — Massive Hemorrhage: Stop life-threatening bleeding first — direct pressure, wound packing, hemostatic gauze, and tourniquets. The number one preventable cause of death in trauma.
• A — Airway: If air can't get in, nothing else matters. Head-tilt chin-lift, jaw thrust, and the recovery position.
• R — Respiration: Assess breathing, recognize a chest injury, and apply a chest seal.
• C — Circulation: Identify the signs of shock and help keep blood flowing to vital organs.
• H — Hypothermia & Head Injury: Prevent the body-temperature drop that worsens every other problem, and recognize the signs of a head injury.

How the course works
